Once again another short day but we’ll make up for it tomorrow which should be a pretty long day in terms of mileage since it is about 16 miles from here to Cromwell Lock with 2 locks to negotiate so that would make 18 ‘lock miles’. Not sure at this stage whether we’ll stop at Cromwell Lock for the day or carry on to Newark Nether Lock for the night. If we do that we can carry on into Newark moorings at Trent Bridge for the rest of the weekend until Monday.

The other side of tomorrow’s trip is that it will be a fairly early start, leaving the moorings at 7.00am to get through Torksey Lock by 7.15 – 7.30. I am not a big fan of early starts since that will mean getting up at 6.00am (I thought there was only one 6 o’clock in the day!). On the plus side we will at last be off the tidal Trent!
