We had another stand-still day today, partly to get the
chance to complete our visit to Lincoln Castle and partly to try to source the
screws necessary to refit the ventilation mushroom to the roof of the boat.
The trip to the castle went well although the weather wasn’t
as bright and sunny as yesterday it was still possible to see over quite a
considerable distance from the castle walls. It is also interesting that there
is still a fully functioning Crown Court right in the centre of what is
effectively a tourist attraction. The board outside the Crown Court emphasises
that it isn’t a tourist attraction but also has to advise that that it is a
Public Court and anyone can go and sit and watch a trial.

As we came to the end of our visit to the castle I got a
phone call from the screw supplier that I had been in contact with who told me
that he hoped to have the screws I need delivered to his shop tomorrow, the
place is about 5 miles away (10 mile round trip on the bike) but if he has the
parts I’ll be glad of the trip!
