We did indeed go for the shorter option today, particularly
since it was raining at first, so we have just come as far as Riley Green
Bridge, actually about 3 miles. Since we don’t really want to moor up in the
middles of Blackburn unless really necessary it means we will have to push on a
bit tomorrow to get to Rishton Bridge, given that we also have 6 locks in
Blackburn to do as well.
Today’s section of canal was OK although a bit shallow in
places, to the degree that I have to slow the engine down a few revs since we
were dragging the bottom. The mooring here at Riley Green however is alright
for depth.
