Moss Lock

Here I am Rune
Distance 5.8 miles
Total 1166 Locks 68 Tunnels
Running total mileage 1692.8 miles
A far better day weather-wise today, main selling point being that there was hardly any wind! The difference this made when dealing with the swing bridges was phenomenal. The only minor issue today was the fact that I forgot that we were going up in broad locks and in the first lock we did I failed to secure the bow line to the lock bollard which meant that when the paddles were released the bow drifted across the lock and clattered into the lockside. By Thursday when we will have (hopefully) got up through the Wigan flight I might make more of a case to remember the bow line.

Tomorrow back through the bottom four locks of the Rufford Arm and back out onto the Leeds Liverpool Canal proper, the hope is to get to the mooring that we had at the back of B&Q to give us a reasonable start on the Wigan flight on Thursday morning.
