Spent the day restocking the larder and having a general
nose around Skipton. Originally thought about going up the Springs Branch when
I saw it on the map, although it would have involved reversing but having now
looked at it from the towpath it isn’t such a good idea since it looks to be
quite shallow and towards the top end is basically a narrow gorge below the
castle. Will stop at the bottom end as we leave Skipton tomorrow since there is
a chandlery selling Calor Gas for which we need a refill.
