A small mileage but an impressive number of locks today (2.1 miles and 21 locks!). The lock goblins were obviously working for us today since ALL of the locks of the Wolverhampton Flight were set for us so all we had to do was open the gates and fill the lock. Even with that level of luck it still took nearly 4 hours from when we set off this morning to when we stopped for lunch above the top lock. I would think that if the locks had been set against us it would have added another hour to the trip. 

We are now moored in the centre of Wolverhampton near to all services (supermarket, train station, coach station) but unfortunately quite near a nightclub (The Boathouse oddly enough). Difficult to say what sort of night to expect here, only time will tell. I’m not keen that we are moored on bollards rather than rings since they can be an attraction to drunks who may consider it amusing to cast a boat adrift during the night, I have however tied fairly tightly so it wont be particularly easy to cast off without coming onto the boat, and if they do that I’d feel the boat rock. There are alternative moorings above the bridge where we are which would certainly be secure since there isn’t any means of getting off them! Think I’ll settle for where we are unless we do get some disturbance.
