We’ve done all that we needed to do in Newark and are now stocked up for the weekend. Filled up with water before leaving the pontoon mooring and have just moved a short hop along the river to Newark Nether Lock where the Elsan is. I’ve booked a passage through Cromwell Lock for Saturday morning at about 10.30 so tomorrow will just be a gentle ‘drift’ from here to Cromwell.
In the normal course of events this would probably be quite a noisy mooring since it is alongside the main East Coast Railway line, but today there is a national strike on, so the line is a lot quieter than normal, although there are still some trains coming through.
