Today was what canal-boating was all about, extremely
pleasant weather and a gentle cruise along a picturesque canal (well at least
until you get to Armitage toilet factory with the view of Rugeley power
station!). Interestingly having checked this blog for the last time we
travelled up this bit of canal (22nd August last year) where we
moored last night at Fradley bridge was about a boat length away from where we moored
the previous time, shows it must be a decent mooring.
Upon reaching Rugeley
we have moored on the town mooring but looking at last time we had moored about
700 metres further on (presumably because these mooring were full in August). We
might take the opportunity to actually visit Rugeley town centre this time.
Tomorrow we’ll be pressing on towards (and hopefully beyond)
