Ingestre

Here I am Rune
Distance 7.3 miles
Total 1058 Locks 58 Tunnels
Running total mileage 1436.8miles

I do wish that the weather would settle down to either a bit warmer or remaining cold since yesterday on the tiller it was T-shirt weather whereas today it was back into a fleece and possibly lighting the fire tonight again. That said it was again a pleasant days cruise through 3 locks to bring us up to Ingestre bridge. It had been my intention to moor on the visitor mooring about 300 yards back from the bridge but there was only space for one boat there and the position was taken. I do find it a bit curious as to why they created a visitor mooring with 48 hour limit there since it is in the middle of nowhere whereas the bridge we are moored at does not have a limit so you could remain here for 14 days if one wished.

Passed by Shugborough House on the way and was intending to take a photo of it but since there was a huge marquee in front of it blocking the view I didn’t bother. The only photos I took were at Great Haywood Junction, principally of the finger post there.

Tomorrow onwards towards Stone.
