Another good day’s work today with 24 locks and 6.2 miles making 30.2 lock miles. The trip though Camp hill locks was a bit circuitous since you go around a couple of tight corners between the locks but at least we weren’t constantly picking up crap on the propeller. Down through Garrison Locks wasn’t too bad either although they could do with putting a finger post up at Bordesley Junction since it isn’t immediately obvious that you need to turn there to keep on the Grand Union. Our pace through Garrison locks was OK as well since there was a boat with three helpers following behind us but they never managed to catch up with us (until we stopped for lunch at Star City).

The after lunch trip was from Star City through Salford junction and up through Perry Barr locks to our current overnight mooring. Passing though Salford Junction we can now say that we’ve completed the full length of the Grand Union canal from Brentford Lock in London to Salford Junction in Birmingham so that is another canal we can check off.
