Fradley

Here I am Rune
Distance 6.8 miles
Total 1052 Locks 58 Tunnels
Running total mileage 1420.7miles

After a bit of a late start whilst I went to get some shopping and a replacement washing line, we had a pleasant days ‘chug’ up to Fradley. I didn’t get quite as far as I thought as I wanted to moor at Fradley Junction but due to a bit of a miscount on the bridges we are actually about a mile short of the junction. Stopped off for lunch at Huddlesford Junction where the old Lichfield Canal used to come in, it would certainly save a lot of time if they managed to reopen that bit of canal since it would access you to the top of the BCN. Travelling down the Birmingham and Fazeley through Salford Junction and on up the Tame Valley and Rushall Canal would take at least three days if not more at the rate we travel but down the old Lichfield Canal if could probably be done in a day.

Tomorrow we’ll be back onto the Trent and Mersey Canal which we then follow all the way through to Middlewich
