Another fairly light day again today, becoming something of
a recurrent theme here, just 1.5 miles but we have done 6 locks in that
distance. The Grindley Brook staircase went pretty well although the by-weirs
on some of the locks were fairly strong pushing the boat off line as I
approached the locks. Went into Whitchurch to complete the weekend shop,
pleasant town with a decent selection of shops (proper bakery, proper butcher,
etc).
Not quite sure where we’ll head for tomorrow, possibly the
Preece Branch down to Whixall.
