Well, we’ve crossed another ‘milestone’ of 900 miles on the
system, soon be at the 1000 mile mark. Fairly easy day today of only just under
8 miles and a couple of locks, say 10 ‘lock miles’. Started out fairly late at
about 11.30am after, once again doing a bit of shopping, hopefully we should be
suitably stocked up now for a few days.
I got chatting to the crew of a Time Share boat at the last lock who
started out from Anderton yesterday (Sunday) and said he is hoping to get to Llangollen
by Wednesday. Having checked the map all I can think is that he’ll have to be
travelling at night as well to achieve that! With 44 miles and 21 locks up the
Llangollen (and the same on the return) if he can do that by Wednesday it would
be some sort of record. We would be looking at getting to Llangollen sometime
next week, possibly. Tonight’s mooring seems good though, miles from anywhere
and very peaceful.
