Went back to the chandlery at Nantwich to replace the broken
back door lock, unfortunately they didn’t have a brass lock, only a chrome one
so have had to buy that as a temporary measure and get a brass one when we can.
The guy in the chandlery said he will order some in and I told him that we’d
probably be back at the end of the month or beginning of next month.
The day’s cruise was relatively quiet, I was expecting to
see more hire boats returning towards their bases but it wasn’t really the
case. As planned we got as far as Grindley Brook series of locks and would have
continued on to Whitchurch but for the fact that the stop solenoid decided to
play up again necessitating a delay to fix it, by the time that was done we
decided it wasn’t worth moving on today and would leave Whitchurch until
tomorrow.
