Another fairly gentle day (aren’t they all?) of just over 5 miles and one lock to get us to Nantwich. This was a bit of a diversion instead of going straight up the Llangollen Canal but the crew needed to change her glasses and my recently bought glasses had the arm come off a couple of days ago and Nantwich seemed to be the nearest Specsavers, so here we are for the night. I quite like Nantwich as is has some quirky buildings and, when we return in a few weeks to collect the crew’s glasses I might take the opportunity to try out the local swimming pool, which is a brine pool (probably a lot to do with the local salt industry). Meanwhile one night here and then we double back and head off up the Llangollen.
