Coventry Basin

Here I am Rune
Distance 14.3 miles
Total 512 Locks 15 Tunnels
Running total mileage 726.0 miles

We have made up for yesterday’s lack of effort with a sterling 14.3 miles and a lock today to get us into Coventry Canal Basin. I seem to remember last time travelling from Hawkesbury Junction through industrial areas thinking that it wasn’t going to be much of a mooring when we get here, and then finding out how wrong I was! It seems a reasonable mooring to the degree that they elderly guy whose wife fell in the other day has now left his boat here for a month to return home (he’s bought a Visitor mooring permit). The only small fly in the ointment was that on our way here some half-wit thought it would be funny to drop a can of beer from one of the bridges as we passed under, no damage to Rune and a bit of a waste of beer if you ask me.
