Another good day’s ‘locking’ having gone up the final flight of locks before we get back to Hawne Basin. Nineteen locks taking about 3 hours so something like a lock every ten minutes. It wasn’t a rush, just a regular rhythm that you get into when doing long flights. There were a few other boats on the move, a couple going up and a couple going down, but not unduly busy (probably because a few people will be watching the funeral).

Now it’s just a level cruise through Birmingham and back to the basin.
