The forecast for today had been overcast and yet for our trip up through Foxton Locks, the sun shone, which meant that on a sunny Saturday there were a lot of sightseers at the locks watching the boats. Usually when there is an audience is the time that things go wrong, but today we swept through the locks in about 40 minutes.  There was a profusion of volunteer lock-keepers on duty and many children of sightseers keen to help push the lock gates. We haven’t travelled far in distance, but we’ve gone up 10 locks.

Tomorrow, if previous trips are anything to go by, we should get to somewhere about Kilworth, either North or South.
