Just as well that we aren’t in a rush to get anywhere, because it has been slow going today. We’ve done less that 2 miles and 3 locks and yet it took until about 1.30pm starting from about 11am. When we got to the first lock at Baddiley we were the last in a queue of 5 to go up so that was about 50 minutes of waiting. The second lock leaked like a sieve and only one top paddle was working so that was another 40 minutes, only the top lock was OK. Soon after that the rain and unforecasted thunderstorm struck, so we decided to moor for the day.

We’ll have to see how tomorrow works out.
