It may have only been 5 miles today, but it seemed a very long 5 miles! The average speed according the GPS was only 1.6mph so it took us 3 hours and 20 minutes to cover that distance. If walking it, I’d expect to cover it in less than 2 hours so it gives some idea of our glacial pace today.

We can now say, however, that we have completed all of the ‘navigable’ Cambridge lodes, though I’d use the term navigable a bit loosely, this is what Reach Lode looked like!

 

 

Tomorrow we are planning to go for a walk back to Wicken Fen and then head off back onto the River Cam towards Cambridge.
