Another lazy day today although we were up in time to see
the partial eclipse which was fascinating. When viewed through a ‘pinhole
camera’ the amount of the sun that was covered was quite astonishing given that
the daylight appeared to be no worse than you’d get with sun through light
cloud. It’s a pity that the 1999 total eclipse wasn’t as easy to see.
Other jobs today have been to go into Salterswood Canal
Trust to top up with water, empty the cassette and pick up a bit more coal. For
the first time this winter we’ve found the stuff we were using last winter,
Stoveglow, which gave good heat and little ash, hope it does the same this
year.
Having had the opportunity to fill the water tank and empty
the toilet we are now reasonably free to stay here for what period we want,
still haven’t gone into Warwick centre to have a nose around, will do so
tomorrow.
