Well although I’ve covered 11 miles today, none of it counts
towards our narrow boat mileage since it was all on the bike! Felt in need of a
bit of exercise and, since there are no swimming pools in the immediate
vicinity I had to get the bike out and do a bit of pedalling. Rode back as far
as Spon Lane Locks then back along the New Main Line back into Birmingham city
centre to check out how the canal repairs are going. Spoke with Rachel in the
CRT office at Cambrian Wharf and she seems optimistic that the canal we be open
again by next Friday so I feel inclined to hang around until then to see if it
happens. The down side of that will be a week with not much to report whilst we
hang around in Birmingham City Centre.
