Instead of catching up, we took a bit of a short day today to visit some friends at the canalside in Long Itchington, think we can propbably make up the difference tomorrow to get to Leamingston Spa to get the weekend shop.

The weather was good but once again not many boats moving in our direction, several going the other way though. The one going our way was two locks ahead of us in the Stockton Flight. In his position I think I’d have waited for the boat behind to catch up to make locking easier (two shore crews to operate the locks) but I think that he pressed on because all of the locks were already set for him, unfortunately that meant that after he had gone through them, they were all set against us. Good exercise though
