Hunt's Lock

Here I am Rune
Distance 7.7 miles
Total 1136 Locks 59 Tunnels
Running total mileage 1561.3 miles

We have now been to the Winsford end of the Weaver navigation so I think we now qualify for the Weaver navigation brass plate that we have to attach to the boat. I think it was probably a good call to stop the night at Vale Royal visitor moorings rather than going on into Winsford last night since the town moorings are right outside of the Red Lion pub and I’m never keen to moor outside of a pub on a Saturday night.
We passed under both bridges at Winsford so technically we were off the CRT waterway but I didn’t proceed out onto the ‘flash’ because it is notoriously shallow and I didn’t fancy getting stuck there. Came back to Vale Royal visitor moorings for lunch and we are now at the moorings below Hunt’s Lock for the night
.
The plan for tomorrow will be to stop off at Northwich to get some supplies then on to the boat lift and back onto the Trent and Mersey. Not sure how far we’ll get as it depends upon when we go up in the lift but it looks like Tuesday may be a standstill day as the weather forecast looks pretty dire (Thunderstorms!).
