We have now passed the 1500 mile mark although we still have a lot of the canal system yet to see. Today was quite good progress of 8 locks and 8.9 miles (although in distance travelled I could also add the 8 mile round trip that I biked to the nearest supermarket once we got here!). Passing through the Bunbury Staircase locks was a lot easier today, partly because there were two CRT volunteers assisting and partly because a lot of the Anglo-Welsh hire boats were out on hire rather than being moored 3 abreast as they were last time we passed through.

Got here to Church Minshull a bit too late to get fuel from the marina which will mean that I’ll have to reverse back to the marina tomorrow to top up. The planned trip tomorrow will be at least as far as Middlewich provided that there are no disasters.
