Another gentle days trip as far as a picnic area called ‘Bramble Cuttings’ which is about 2 miles out of Middlewich. I wasn’t aware of this mooring until we were almost on top of it but it seemed very pleasant and although it was originally a lunch stop, we decided to stay for the rest of the day. The locks of Middlewich were not too onerous although it was quite busy with boats both going down in front of us and others coming up, the only thing I would say is that they seemed to be very deep locks (or at least it looks that way when you are at the bottom of them!).

Today we also received our new boat licence via e-mail, which is pretty good since we don’t pay for it until next month but I was wondering how we were going to display it if it was going to be sent to our postal address.

Tomorrow we’ll be on to Anderton and the boat lift though I don’t expect to go through it until Wednesday
