Torksey

Here I am Rune

Distance 7.3 miles

Total 4694 Locks  313 Tunnels

Running total mileage 6,968.4 miles

We are now back to Torksey, ready for tomorrow’s passage back up the Tidal Trent to Cromwell Lock. At the moment the weather looks OK, overcast turning to sunny in the afternoon and with winds of Force 4 to 6 but with the high banks I’m hoping that wont be too problematic except of course on the sections where we are heading straight into it.

Today’s forecast wasn’t that accurate since they predicted that the rain should have finished by about midday and yet when we reached Saxilby where we needed to stop to get some more milk, it then tipped down with rain for about half an hour. Good deed for the day was to re-moor a boat that was breaking away from it’s moorings there and drifting across the navigation. Other than that, pretty event free, the section to Torksey is very straight in places.

The plan for tomorrow, disasters aside, will be to be moored up at Cromwell Lock
