Delph

Here I am Rune
Distance 0.7 miles
Total 825 Locks 40 Tunnels
Running total mileage 1245.5miles

Today was probably the first significant piece of ‘locking’ that we’ve done since we went up the Tat Bank branch to Titford Pools. Although all of the locks of the Delph flight were set against us, once we got into a rhythm we seemed to get through fairly quickly (less than a couples of hours). Can regard it as a training exercise for tomorrow when we will need to get down the Stourbridge flight of 16 locks to get into Stourbridge Town Arm for tomorrow night.

Now that we haven’t the problem of frozen canals we are starting to get moving again, the plan for Thursday will be to go to the junction of the Staffs & Worcs  and then probably back to Stourbridge with Friday bringing us back here to Delph with the intention of getting back to Merry Hill on Saturday in (hopeful) anticipation of the replacement washing machine having been delivered to the Argos store there.

Delph Flight from the top down.......
...............and from the bottom, up
