Back to Brownhills

Here I am Rune
Distance 2.8 miles
Total 757 Locks 28 Tunnels
Running total mileage 1145.7 miles

Change of plan for the day brings us back to Brownhills once again. No particular reason for the change of plan, just felt like it! Once back here finding a mooring was a little bit more problematic than last time, as we were heading for the Sanitary Station (for toilet emptying, rubbish, etc.) a boat was just turning around outside of it and then occupied one of the last remaining mooring places. After carrying out our necessary chores we then had to head back towards Catshill Junction to try to find somewhere to moor. The moorings at Brownhills are a bit odd in that there are all the necessary bollards and stuff but when you actually try to moor you find that there isn’t much depth alongside the shore. We have taken about the last mooring by the footbridge before it gets too shallow to moor at all. As things are the stern of the boat is sticking out into the canal by about 3 feet.

We may stay here  for a couple of days or we may move off down the Dawe End Branch tomorrow, we’ll see what we feel like doing.
