Well, after a walking break away from the boat, we are now back aboard and heading South. The walk we took was a gentle walk from Newcastle to Carlisle along Hadrian’s Wall and, given that the weather was generally excellent,what a pleasant walk it was.

Now that we are back aboard, we need to plan where we are  going next. The area of the system that we haven’t travelled yet is around the Fens but I don’t think there will be time this season since there is a lot to cover there, and we would also need to get across there which would take a little time. 

At the moment the plan will be to go back around the Bridgewater Canal and then down the Trent and Mersey and take another trip down onto the River Weaver via the Anderton boat lift. We’ll plan our next destination after we’ve done that.
