A fair days cruise bringing us the 12 miles to the site of the canal breach at Dutton back in 2012. There haven’t been many boats on the move today, but is luck would have it there are boats moored at the spot I was hoping for, it has a good view over the Weaver Valley.

Stopped off at Midland Chandlers, Preston Brook on the way to get some more stern gland grease, a new gasket for the fuel filler cap (I think a bit of water has been leaking in) and a replacement pressure switch for the water pump that failed us at Lancaster. Provided it was only the switch that was faulty, once replaced we will then have a ‘spare’ water pump should it fail again at any time.

Tomorrow I’m hoping to go down the Anderton Boat lift onto the River Weaver to spend the weekend around Northwich.
