A good day’s locking if I may say so. 20 locks and we were done by about lunchtime (2pm). They have all been narrow locks so they do tend to fill and empty quite quickly, but since we were following another boat up, most of the locks seem to have been set against us, even though several of the locks were ‘paired’, but what that meant was the boat ahead of us took whichever lock was already in our favour.
At least it was a bit cooler today, yesterday was forecast to be 31 degrees C and it certainly felt like the forecast was accurate. A very hot night but, surprisingly, I did manage to sleep quite well.
Forecast for tomorrow is once again cooler and now with the prospect of rain
