Quite a busy day today, although only just over 5 miles we
had 12 locks to go through as well. Fortunately we managed to team up with
another boat, called ‘Raven’, so going through the locks as a pair made the
whole process a lot easier. We separated after the lunch stop which left us
with the final 5 locks to do on our own but is certainly speeded things up a
bit.
Tomorrow when we set off the first thing we’ll encounter
will be Saddington Tunnel but at least is should be a lock-free day as the
intention is to go as far a Foxton since that will put us in travelling
distance of Market Harborough for the weekend shopping. That will probably put
us onto the Foxton flight of locks (10) on Sunday.
