Just a short hop up through Foxton Locks today and that has
been it, the fifth time we have passed through them in RUNE and this time with
no great drama other than a bit of rain to deal with. Interestingly the
volunteer Lock keeper told us that the short pound between the two flights does
catch quite a few people out since the water swirls around in it going in a
clockwise direction which tends to throw you off line as you aim for the next
flight. After the bump on the first time through I seem to have now ‘mastered’
it OK and we passed through without any significant knocks.
Not sure what the plan for tomorrow is, depends on the
weather.
