Today’s move barely justifies the description being a
distance of only 75 metres! The purpose of the exercise however was to move off
the 24 hour moorings at the sanitary station onto the 14 day moorings alongside
so we can remain here if we wish until after the Spring Tides have passed on
the River Trent allowing a more comfortable run to West Stockwith Lock. I’m not
sure that there is a whole lot to do here in Thorne so we may elect to go for a
bit of a canal cruise between now and Wednesday (the day I would hope to travel
down to Keadby to get onto the Trent), we’ll have to see what the weather does,
particularly since the weather today was crap!
