Keadby (2)

Here I am Rune
Distance 0 miles
Total 1341 Locks 70 Tunnels
Running total mileage 1911.7 miles
Moving on from Thorne to Keadby yesterday seems to have been an excellent move since the weather today has been dire with pretty much constant rain which would have made the trip a lot less pleasant. Still on course to set off down the Trent tomorrow to get to West Stockwith although rather worryingly we are the only one’s booked to go through the lock tomorrow to get to West Stockwith. There is a cruiser booked to go through at 8.40am but he is going on to Torksey and Lincoln so will want the tide to still be running when he gets to West Stockwith. The cruiser apparently thinks he may have a problem with his engine and has asked me to look out for him moored in the river as we travel down as that will mean his engine has failed! He has the interesting plan that if the engine is OK he will go to Lincoln but if there is a problem he will try to press on to his base at Newark which is a lot further and will be pushing against the ebbing tide down to Cromwell Lock. We’ll have to see what happens.
