Our final stop on the Thames here at Kingston is, like last night’s mooring, free for 24 hours so a cheap stay in Kingston. Once again the weather seemed to hold out OK for the passage down river. Only one torrential downpour that fortunately coincided with our lunchtime stop at Hampton Court. Although all the moorings were occupied when we arrived at Hampton Court, the Environmental Agency book recommends rafting up with other boats at busy locations, so we took advantage of this advice and tied up alongside another boat whose occupants were out visiting Hampton Court. Upon their return they raised no objections to our mooring alongside, particularly since I said that we did so to get lunch and to get out of the rain!

A late start tomorrow for the comparatively short run on the tidal section to Brentford, I think we will probably leave Kingston at about 2.30pm to get to Brentford at 3.30pm.
Hopefully the rumours that people have been saying that we are now due for a hot spell will come to fruition.
