Once again, a nice little ‘work-out’ coming down the Northampton flight of locks. Started of with rain, then turned showery and finally sunny by the time we got to Northampton moorings. We were assisted by a local, Joel, who went ahead and set all of the locks ahead of us on the first 12 locks, so I gave him a couple of bottles of beer for his trouble. We stopped above lock 17 since there were moorings available but we’ll have a look tomorrow below the locks for the moorings that are a bit closer to the supermarket. 

On Friday the hope is to start exploring the River Nene.
