Given the shortage of moorings on the River Wissey, we have stopped at Hilgay which will mean that we go to end and back tomorrow, so a longer day’s cruising than of late since it is about 8 miles in each direction. So far the river has been quite deep which means that keeping up a pace of 3mph is quite easy, so to get to the end and back again tomorrow should be just over 5 hours cruising, but if it starts to get weedy, that time could increase substantially. The only downside here at Hilgay is that the sanitary block looks as though it is permanently out of action.
