We are now set up to go up Tardebigge flight tomorrow, weather permitting. I’ve ridden a short way up on the bike to assess it an, as far as I went, you don’t seem to get a direct view up a whole load of locks, which always looks a bit daunting (Cane Hill in Devizes). Speaking with the guy moored behind us who had just come down, he said it took him about 3 hours with assistance from the volunteer lock-keepers, which works out at about 10 locks an hour, quite a fair pace. I’d budgeted for between 5 & 6 hours so we will have to see how it goes.
