Christleton

Here I am Rune
Distance  1.9 miles
Total 2982 Locks  154 Tunnels
Running total mileage 4352 miles

Given the weather, today would probably have been a good day not to go anywhere but since we were in need of a top-up to our water tank we had to make a move and once started we may as well continue to the next mooring since we were already wet.

One advantage of running a blog such as this, principally for my own benefit, is when I can look back at the comments made the last time we passed through this area and act accordingly. I had commented last time about the way in which the water swirls into these locks and how difficult it was, as a single boat in the lock, to keep control of it. Well this time, utilising both the centre rope and the bow rope to keep the boat near to the side, it went a whole lot better than last time.

Having got tired of getting wet in the rain, we have moored up back at Christleton Visitor Moorings, moving on again tomorrow when the weather forecast is far better.
