With no locks to deal with we did a decent distance today, although we were slowed by doing our good deed for the day. At Shebdon we came across a boat suffering from engine problems who asked if we could give them a tow to Norbury Wharf so that they could have their engine looked at. Since there was little traffic on the move we gave them a tow, just short of 3 miles, so it took us a bit over an hour and a half.

 

As it turned out the problem was the engine overheating as a result of leaves in the canal, although it cost the owner of the boat over £100 for the work they did on it. Whilst at Norbury we stocked up with a bottle of gas, some oil for the forthcoming engine service/oil change and a liner for the chimney.
