Autherley Junction

Here I am Rune

Distance 12.1 miles

Total 4575 Locks  289 Tunnels

Running total mileage 6,860.3 miles

As planned we are now at Autherley Junction with about a mile to go before we start up the climb that is the Wolverhampton 21 flight. It has been an excellent day’s cruise in fine autumnal weather and the leaf colours is looking very impressive. The difficulty at this time of year is that once you’ve finished the day’s cruise there isn’t much daylight left for other stuff that needs to be done. Today we hit the time for the engine oil change which was rushed a bit to get it done before it got dark. It’s a good time for it however since it will mean that the new oil will have a chance to flush the engine before the boat gets left for the winter, so we’ll be leaving fresh oil in the engine.

Not sure how far we are going tomorrow, it’ll either be to the top of the Wolverhampton Flight, on a bit further to the Black Country Museum Moorings or if we get on really well, back to the basin.
