It was a good decision to sit out the poor weather yesterday, today was an excellent day for cruising  sunny, not much wind but a little bit cooler. For us it was also a long day of over 16 miles, no locks but a couple of lift bridges and one (Shirley Drawbridge) which was broken and stuck in the up position, fortunately for us.

Despite hearing rumours of lots of boats moored in Birmingham, this hasn’t been the case on our arrival. Only three other boats moored outside of the Arena, a couple along Oozells loop and two the other side of Sheepcote Street bridge, so loads of spare moorings.

We’ll be here until Saturday as there are a couple of things I need to do in the City Centre.
