Well, despite most of the books saying that you can’t get a 60 foot narrow boat up the Ripon Canal, here we are moored in Ripon. I’m not sure why the maps and guide books state that the trip can’t be made since it has been easier getting here that it was going down the  Huddersfield Broad canal, and the books all say that 60 foot boats can do that canal although need to go diagonal in the locks (true).

I think we will stay here and check out Ripon until Friday then head back towards Boroughbridge to visit the roman village at Aldborough. Ultimately the plan will be to arrive back in York by about Sunday.
