Another steady plod on today as far as Weedon. The choice seemed to be either the 6.2 miles to here or continue on to Norton Junction which would have been 12.3 miles and 7 locks so 19.3 ‘lock miles’. The reason for this is because from here to Norton Junction the Railway closes in on us from the west and the M1 motorway closes in on us from the east so for quite a way we are sandwiched between the two, not conducive to a quiet night’s sleep! Since we are in no rush to get anywhere we took the easier option leaving us with a more comfortable 6.1 miles and 7 locks tomorrow.  Once we reach Norton Junction we will have completed the circuit (started back in July 2013) of down the Oxford Canal, along the Thames and back up the Grand Union (with the excursion down the Kennet and Avon!).
