Probably not the most challenging day’s travel, a mere 1.9
miles and no locks, on the plus side however we’ve stocked up from Northampton
shops ,emptied the toilet and filled the water tank so it hasn’t been a
complete waste! The deciding factor however was that as we were finishing
clearing up lunch preparing to move off our now famous ‘slow’ boat came past
and rather than spend the rest of the afternoon sitting behind him we decided
to take the afternoon off and enjoy the sun.
We still have plenty of time to get to Debdale Marina for the
blacking and may take time out elsewhere to kill a bit more time. The mooring
we have found for the night seems comfortable although perhaps a little close
to the railway line but after travelling the Kennet and Avon we are well used
to that.
Time to go back outside and enjoy the sun methinks.
