Although I’m not one for early starts, we didn manage to get away this morning by 9am which got us back to Shirley Drawbridge by about 11.40am, in time to the noon opening. We stopped off at Wedges Bakery near to Hockley Heath to pick up a loaf of their excellent bread, although the premises has developed a bit since my last visit, a full delicatessen and cafe as well as a bakery now.

We are well positioned to get the weekend shopping tomorrow and then, depending upon the weather, forecast isn’t good, we can either move on to Kings Norton junction, or we can stay here until Saturday and make the full trip into Birmingham from here.
