Today was more that ‘pretty’ hot, it was scorching. We have got to Gailey as intended but it took us a bit longer than anticipated. We stopped at Penkridge to refill the water tank so that I would be able to take a cold shower at the end of a days locking/helming and with one or two other lesser delays we didn’t get here to Gailey until about 4.30pm. Interesting speaking to others on the way, one boat had come from the other side of Great Haywood and were heading for Coven for the night, for us that is three days travel (at a considerably more leisurely pace).

Tomorrow the intention will be to get to Coven once again in preparation for heading back up the Wolverhampton flight on Tuesday.
