Once again we’ve kept up to expectations and, after getting the weekend shop in Solihull and Shirley we set off after launch and have reached Hockley Heath, finding excellent mooring near to the Wharf Inn public house. One of the problems on this canal has been a lack of depth at the sides but this mooring has been ideal with us able to moor up tightly to the towpath.

As a warm-up run tomorrow we have a couple of lift bridges to pass through before we set off down the Lapworth Flight of 19 locks which will take us to Kingswood Junction, our intended mooring for tomorrow night.
